La Marende Holiday Park (France)
A boat-shaped outdoor play structure for a true adventure experience
Yelloh! Village La Marende, located in the Pyrénées-Orientales (France), chose to enhance its leisure offering with the installation of a themed outdoor play structure shaped like a boat. Designed to stimulate children’s imagination, this project immerses younger guests in a world of adventure and treasure hunts, with a playful structure full of details and interactive features.
A pirate-themed outdoor play structure
For this project, La Marende selected an outdoor play structure shaped like a boat and designed as a true pirate setting. The aim was to create an immersive play space capable of capturing children’s attention at first sight and transforming the playground into a place of exploration.
The structure includes many decorative details that reinforce the pirate universe. Among them are a parrot, a skull, a compass, and a trident. All these elements contribute to the overall atmosphere, turning the playground into more than just a play area – it becomes a support for imagination and storytelling.
A play structure with a puzzle to solve
Beyond its shape and visual appeal, this structure was designed to offer a more interactive play experience. A puzzle has been integrated directly into the play route. Children must find hidden numbers within the structure in order to recreate a code.
This concept adds an extra dimension to the experience. It encourages exploration, curiosity, and observation, while motivating children to move through the entire structure to complete the challenge. The play experience thus becomes a full adventure, combining physical activity with a treasure hunt.
A mini structure for toddlers
Next to the boat, a second structure has been installed for younger children. This mini play area takes the shape of a treasure chest, in keeping with the main theme of the project.
Designed for toddlers, it provides a space suited to their age, with a more accessible scale of play and simpler interactions. This complementarity between the main structure and the area dedicated to younger children allows the campsite to offer a leisure experience designed for the whole family.
A structure pre-assembled before on-site installation
The project also required specific technical organisation. The structure was first pre-assembled before being transported and installed at the campsite. This method made it possible to prepare a large part of the assembly in advance and facilitate the final installation on site.
