A signature paddling pool inspired by the Wild West in France
In 2026, Grand’Terre Holdiay Park, located in Ardèche (France), chose to create a signature paddling pool themed around the Wild West to enhance its aquatic area. Designed in collaboration with the client, this tailor-made project had a clear objective: to offer a strong, immersive world for young children, increase the campsite’s attractiveness, and deliver a fun and engaging swimming experience for families.
A bespoke paddling pool designed with Camping Grand’Terre
For this project, the process began with an exchange phase with the client to clearly define needs, objectives, and budget. This initial step laid the foundations for a playful paddling pool that is consistent with the campsite’s identity and adapted to its aquatic area.
The project was then developed in several stages:
• understanding needs, objectives, and budget
• creating a moodboard to define the visual universe
• producing sketches to explore initial design ideas
• developing 3D visuals to project the final layout
• selecting colours and customisation details
• installation of the paddling pool
This working method made it possible to build a fully customised project, ensuring strong consistency between the theme, the play features, and the overall atmosphere of the area.
A richly detailed Wild West universe
The signature paddling pool at Camping Grand’Terre was designed around a Wild West theme, featuring numerous decorative elements that enhance immersion. Every detail was carefully considered to create a distinctive and playful world for children.
The design includes several references to the Western universe: sheriff’s star, lantern, crow, pistols, cacti… Décor inspired by wood materials and the atmosphere of American frontier towns.
A Wild West-inspired colour palette
Colour selection played a key role in the identity of this project. The paddling pool was designed using wood tones, yellow, and reddish-orange, with touches of green provided by the cacti.
This palette strengthens the visual identity of the project and reflects the Wild West aesthetic. It also helps highlight the different play features and decorative elements while maintaining a harmonious overall look within the aquatic area.
A fun paddling pool for young children
Beyond its visual universe, this signature paddling pool was designed to offer a wide variety of water play features for young children. It includes a play structure with several slides, including a wide lane, to offer different sensations and encourage group play.
The layout also features showers, water pistols, slides, and a structure designed to promote exploration and interaction.
